We have carpet in our bedrooms and in our den where the kids play.

I don't like getting out of bed to a cold floor in the morning, so I prefer carpet in our bedroom. DH wants wood in our bedroom-maybe down the line.

In all the bedrooms and the family/play room. I find carpet to be cozier than woodfloors everywhere.

den, living room, DC bedroom, guest bedroom, basement. we ripped up the carpet in our bedroom and refinished the hardwood because we prefer hardwood for us, but prefer carpet in childrens play areas.

I have carpet in 2 of the 3 bedrooms and upstairs hallway, in the den/family room, and in the finished basement.

DS's room is hardwood with an area rug.

Our formal living room and formal dining room are hardwood (with area rugs).

Ceramic tile in front entryway/hall and kitchen. (And of course, tile in all bathrooms!).

The second floor bedrooms only. The rest of the house has hardwood floors with area rugs.

Dh and I have installed carpet in the family room and in the basement on the finished side.

Other then that we have area rugs in the LR, DR, and BR

In baby's room and the den. I hate carpet. We do have area rugs.

No carpet. We have some areas rugs. It's just easier with the dogs and also for allergies. Rugs hold too much dust

I hate it in the bedroom. I want to do wood floors like the rest of the house.

our "upstairs" that's technically 2 bedrooms is carpeted, but we just use it as an attic

other than that, the only other carpet in our house is an area rug in our living room

Just 1 room in our house that's a playroom. Hardwood and tile everywhere else.

i have carpet in my living room, stair way, upstairs hallway and all bedrooms...if i had the $ it would all be gone...i hate it!

Yes on the 2nd floor of our house ( 3 bedrooms and the hallway) and on the stairs. I have always hated carpet, but i dont mind the one we have. Its nice and was just installed before we moved in.

1) This is not our forever home. We've done a lot of work to the permanent structures of the house, but now we are focusing on buying things we can take with us. We plan to move in about two years. I think in our forever home, we'll look to put some carpeting somewhere.

2) Too much of a hassle with the cats.

Yep. All the bedrooms and the den have carpet. I don't like hardwood in those areas of the house, carpet is cozier and I prefer it in those rooms. I have hardwood in my formal LR, DR, foyer, and hallway.

Nope hardwood thru out but we also put down area rugs

We just had it installed in the upstairs bedrooms this spring. We have wood floors, but they were in need of some work...and I figured carpet was easier than refinishing the upstairs floors.
So really, I'm just lazy. But I do like the feel of carpet on my feet when I get out of bed in the morning...
