Whats the procedure? Risks? How long does it take? I was going google it, but thought I'd ask real people first. Thanks. : )

Cvs test
It's relatively quick. They go in through the absomen or cervix, for me the doctor went in through the abdomen. Once the needle is in he moved the needle up and down for 30 seconds to make sure they got a sample of the placenta. They take the needle out clean off the iodine put on a bandaid and you're on your way.
If they get enough of a sample they will usually be able to offer you partial results in 24 hours (it's called FISH). Otherwise it takes about 7 days for complete results. They reccommend you take it easy for the next 24 hours and for two days afterwards it felt like I had done a ton of crunches.
They say the risks are miscarriage, the same as with getting an amnio but if you go to a doctor who specializes in invasive fetal diagnostic procedures (CVS, Amnios, etc) the odds are slim. The Dr. who my OB referred me to for my CVS and Amnio was very good and I liked him just about the most you can like someone who just jabbed a needle into your abdomen.
To be honest it wasn't pleasant but it's over pretty fast.
