How to arrange furniture in this room?
Don't pay attention to this furniture (its the sellers)
and we're redoing the floors before moving in...
That said, I was thinking of a sectional on the left wall (the corner/bend part being towards the kitchen side NOT the mantle side)
and then a chair opposite that?
We were thinking of putting the TV on the wall on the right (where seller has her tv on floor right now)

How to arrange furniture in this room?
From the pic it is difficult to make out how you enter/exit the room. If the sectional does not impede entering or exiting the living room, then I think your plan is good.

I'll add another pic if it helps, sorry just going by what I have so far, we're moving a a week or 2 :) (and trying to plan already lol)

I think your plan is good too. So TV and chair to left of TV would stay the same and you'd just add a sectional where the two chairs/sofa is?

Looks good to me!
yeah exactly...hopefully we can find a sectional that will fit nicely, I don't want the side that is to the kitchen to be TOO long (cutting off the openness)...then maybe put a sofa table behind it so you don't just see 'back of couch' when you come in

How to arrange furniture in this room?
you can also get something that is L shaped with an chaise thingy on the part that separates the living room from the kitchen area - so you still have something there but it doesn't take up as much visual space.

Yes, I was thinking of that too! Hopefully we can find one that is longer than 3 seats so there's enough seating TY!

I would put a long couch (i dont like sectionals bc you are stuck and cant change where you put it. ) along that wall across from TV and put 2 seats where that love seat is

I don't know if you need to extra chair, but I think you have a good plan. You could also do a couch on the left wall opposite the tv with a love seat facing the fire place so it is easy to get into the sitting area, this would also allow for another end table to square off the couch and love seat.
