Back from my anatomy scan with one worry..
I am 19w 5d Confirmed that we had a boy and girl in there. (I am super thrilled)
Boy measuring in 95th % 13oz.
Girl measuring in 82nd % 12 oz.
Most everything came out great Except they found an echogenic foci on the girls heart. Which could be a soft marker for downs. I am hopeful though that all is ok because we did have the Maternity T21 test done several weeks ago with good results, and none of my other tests (AFP) came back with worrisom results.
We will go for a fetal echo at 22 weeks. I will be worried, but trying to be optimistic..man I would have just loved smooth sailing.
If anyone else had this issue with their baby, please share your outcome. Thanks

LOL yeah, so weird... i was talking to my cousins wife over the weekend and she said that is the name of her cousins daughter lol... Shaun seems to really love it... he even called her Hailey already so we are sticking with it!

Back from my anatomy scan with one worry..
Congratulations!! We actually had a similar scare... Our little girl had some chorid plexus cysts (which are also soft markers for downs). I was completely freaked out but my doctor really reassured me by saying that many many times if there was something wrong with your baby, something else would have showed up. He also said that these soft markers are incredibly common.... Hopefully that makes you feels little better, good luck with everything!!!

It sounds like you are taking it just the right way. Going through all the necessary steps, but reminding yourself that risks are unlikely after your pervious results. Good luck!

My anatomy scan came back with fluid in his kidneys soft marker for downs. Read up on it very common in boys all my blood work was perfect Doc reassured me all was well now at 36 weeks fluid is gone

We had this with DD. Went to the specialist and they said it has to be visible from three different angles (it was only visible from one) and that it has to appear as "white as bone" on the sono. It was not. She said not to worry about it at all. DD is 21 months now and 100% healthy. It was absolutely nothing. My OB had said it was probably just a "strong heart muscle."

My DD had that too in her anatomy scan. My Doc told me not to worry (easy for him to say), and everything turned out fine.

At our anatomy scan, they thought they saw a hole in the heart, also a soft marker for a chromo issue. However, when we went for the fetal echo, everything turned out fine. Good luck!!

i was told there is a spot on my baby's heart too and that its a soft marker for downs...but bc of my other test results i was told not to worry.
do you mind me asking why they are sending you for a fetal echo? my doctor doesnt seem to be doing anything for me...and i would rather have tests and be safe

Well, they want a closer look at the heart to confirm what they saw, and to make sure there is not some other issue.
My DH family Hx is terrible when it comes to heart disease, so that is contributing to the decision.

We were told the foci has absolutely nothing to do with heart disease. I'm definitely not a doctor, but that's what we were told.

We had a scare 2 yrs ago with dd. She had a echogenic foci and a space btw her toes. 2 soft markers for downs. Since we had declined the inital 12 wk sonogram our numbers for downs were grim. we went to high risk and di more in depth sono. They saw what the other sono saw and gave us #'s and our option for more invasive testing. We didn't more testing and it turns out she is perfect!!!!
At 1 year we did have sono on her heart b/c she does have a murmur and everything is fine.
Please try not to be nervous. I was so scared and drove myself crazy.
It drives me crazy they still use the old markers for downs. With technology and research they really should be able to change it up.
This time we did the 12 testing and everything came back fine.
I was alos told that the 12 week sono and blood is more accurate than the 2o week sono. How were your numbers for the 12 week?
