OMG I thought they send you to the hospital once you reach 4cm? you're going to have that baby by tomorrow yay!

Nope, definitely not. I was walking around for a few days, worked 13 hours on my feet while 4cm dilated. My doctor was sure I'd go into labor at any minute. After close to a week I caved and let him break my water to get things going.
