3 cm and 90% effaced at 35 weeks
Had my first internal tonight at 35 weeks. Doc said I was 3cm and 90% effaced! She said she predicts baby will be here in a week or two. I'm freaking out! This is second pregnancy and I have nothing ready! She said to try to stay off my feet to slow progress a bit. Like that's easy with a 22 month old and working mon- thurs.
Anyone been dilated and effaced this much and not have baby right away? My edd is 5/23...really trying to make it to May (for my own silly reasons). Excited...but freaking out!

Crashing...
I walked around 3 cm dilated for a week with baby #2. Delivery was ridiculously quick. Less than 1 1/2 hours and 4 pushes after my water broke at home. When it's time, I hope your labor is quick!

dont know about the effaced part but I've been 3cm for over 2 weeks now (since 37 weeks)...GL!

I've been 3cm for 3 weeks now and so far nothing but lots of false labor/irregular contractions  My docs were convinced that I was going to go early again (as was I), but my edd is in 4 days and I'm starting to think that I'm going to go late this time around...
ETA: I'm not sure about the effaced part either. I'm not sure how true it is, but 2 of my docs told me that w/2nd pregnancies dilation is the more accurate measure of if/when you go...

I've been 3 cm and about 80% effaced for 3 weeks now. I'm only 30 weeks 
Needless to say I've been in the hospital on bedrest because of this. But at leat I haven't prgressed any. So as my doctors say - evreyone is different. Some people can deliver within in days of that and some can last many many weeks!
I would do as the doctors say and stay off your feet - It seemsto be working for me.
