I say go for it. I have always loved going to baby showers. I'm sure you have all the big stuff so if it's a girl you can make it all about little girl clothing and things for her nursery. I know people who had a boy and then their second was a boy and they had a sprinkle for that baby too, no one in our family complained or said anything, people were happy to attend. It was much smaller maybe 20ish people but it was still a lot of fun...

Re: Sprinkle
I know someone who had two boys and then just had a girl and she made a very short registry for like 10 -15 things and had a brunch with her close family and like 2 friends so you can do something like that.

Re: Sprinkle
I have a 7 yr old son - and this time around it's a girl... I wasn't planning anything for myself but my DD's Godmother threw us a small sprinkle on Sunday and it was awesome! I say go for it!

I don't see why not, boy or girl. Every baby is worth celebrating, not just the 1st one!

Re: Sprinkle
I think it's fine (although not done in my family or circle) if someone else throws you a sprinkle. I personally wouldn't throw myself one. If you want to have a party for the baby, I would have a baby celebration party but I would probably put the word out that gifts aren't necessary (I can't stand the idea of asking people to get you gifts, kwim?). I would imagine if you did that some people would still get you things. You're bound to get tons of clothes regardless if there's a party or not too!

Re: Sprinkle
I think it is so nice for EVERY baby to be celebrated. Where I am from upstate, there was a small baby shower for each child born.
I am due with twins this time, and a girl (had a boy before), so one would be nice, but there will be no shower or sprinkle for these little ones. I know family will still send gifts etc for them though

I think sprinkles are fine if you're having a baby of a different gender than your first, but i wouldn't register.
