"my tummy hurts"
DD is almost 4 1/2. I feel like she has been saying her tummy hurts a lot lately. She is not a good eater and doesn't have a big appetite either. Saturday she didn't eat a good breakfast and it was something she liked. Later that day she only ate half her lunch and then we were at a party where they served early dinner and she didn't like anything so I figured I would just give her something when we got home. She did however eat a cupcake and some candy (i know, i know, but it was her cousin's birthday party! ) . When we got home that evening, she had some chicken nuggets so I was satisfied. She woke up around 11, crying...she had thrown up all over herself . Got her in the tub, clean sheets, let her relax in bed with me and watch some tv, she said she was better so back to bed. She was totally fine the next day and Monday. Today after breakfast I was getting her changed and had to wrestle with her a little bit since she always squirms away from me, she said "ow, you squeezed me where my tummy hurts!" i said show me where and she pointed to her chest. I have a bad (hopefully neurotic) feeling that something is wrong. I'm actually home sick today with a sore throat and I keep thinking I'm going to get a phone call saying she threw up. Do you think this is something I should look into ? Do you think she could have like acid reflux or something?! she's always been a healthy little girl so idk what to do. I know little kids sometimes just say their tummies hurt for attention and stuff, but i have a gut feeling it's something more

Re: "my tummy hurts"
Take her to the doc.
AJ is 4 and has had the same complaint but for her its generally because she ate something bad for her. Her diet is pretty fixed. Veggies and fruits are a huge part of it. When we went to NY she ate whatever we could find or was served so she went 'off diet' and it bothered her tummy a lot. Once it 'passed' (literally) it got easier, but I know the veggie chicken nuggetes took two days for the pain to really pass.
If she eats ketchup (why does her school even CARRY it) she'll get heart burn like pains. Anything high in salt will do the same.
Plus since she now understands pain and memory, she'll have 'ghost' pains that get worse when she remembers how they felt. So if she bumps her knee really hard and it brusies badly, a week later she'll remember and start to limp again and cry that it hurts. When I know its actually healing just fine. Plus I see her forget the pain too.
still better safe than sorry, take her in.
