When did you stop working?

When did you decide to stop working.... I am 36 weeks pregnant and I don't think I can do it much longer.

Do you need your doctor's consent to stop?

My doctor put on my disabilty paperwork my due date. I stopped earlier that week. I do shift work not a typical 9-5.

You should talk to your doctor and he/she will fill out your paperwork accordingly.

this time around, will likely be a scheduled C at 39 weeks so I hope to go till 38w+

I was a scheduled C/S and delivered on March 20th. My last day at work was March 18th. I wanted to work to the last possible day so I could have all of my maternity with my DD.

I just started a new job so I'll be working up until I have the baby. I hope I can get through the last couple of weeks!

i'll be working till the end, but starting yesterday (38 weeks), i'm working from home.

i believe you need your doctor's signature or something to start disability leave early, but most doctors will just sign whatever needs to be signed if you're that uncomfortable.

I worked until one day I had the worst back pains (due to the baby's positioning) that I couldn't make it to work and went to the hospital instead. They decided to induce me. I was a week early from my due date. Luckily I was able to get that far and work until giving birth. Hopefully I can do that with the next.

My doc also put my due date on my disability papers as the start date.

Your doctor has to approve you for disability and it will cut into your time with the baby.. so take that into considertion as well.

my scheduled c section is Wed Oct 17. my last day will be teh friday before Oct.12.

Im miserable.. can barely walk and now I have hemroids... I fell your pain..however.. I want to max most of my time with the baby afterwards.

I stopped at 38 weeks with baby 1 (who arrived at 39 weeks) and will do the same this time. I have a right under out disability policy to stop at 38 weeks with pay without it affecting the time I get after delivery.

I worked up until my water broke

I always said i would work until the end but didnt think i would actually go into labor at work. I wasnt sure if my water broke so i called the doc and she said come straight to get checked out. I told work i would be back in 30 mins. I came back 12 weeks later .
I was in the hospital emailing directions to people as it was 1 week before i was due. I was sure i had 2 weeks left to work.

My original plan was to work as long as possible. But now my OB is talking about inducing me next Monday, so I'll be stopping at the end of this week, which means I'll be 39 weeks

36 weeks - but that is my employer's policy and it doesn't effect my maternity leave etc

I worked until the very end. I was sooooo uncomfortable though.

When I went into labor. I didn't want to use up any of my time BEFORE the baby was born.

I worked until July 24th and had my son via c-section on August 4th at 39 weeks. At the end I could barely walk from my car to my office anymore, it was so uncomfortable. Just keep in mind, if you are planning on returning to work after the baby - your maternity leave starts when you are home, not when the baby is born.

I worked in my office until 28 weeks when I developed blood clots. I then worked from home until my due date

Check with your company because if I had gone out on disability before that did not count towards maternity. Where I work maternity does not start until there is a baby born.

I hope to be able to work up until the very end. I would rather use my FMLA time once the baby is here and not before.

Your doctor would have to fill out your FMLA paperwork stating you can no longer work and starting what date... unless your employer is OK with you taking the extra time.

I am a teacher and am due Feb 25th. My last day will be the Friday before Feb break which is about a week and a half before my due date. I will start using my sick days the day I am due.

I worked until 1 week before my due date (DS1 was born 40wks/ 2days), but I shifted my schedule a week or two before that - I commute and didn't want to worry about running for the train, so I built in a little added flexibility.

With DD #2 I worked till the last day..thankfully I went into labour during the weekend. With DD#3 I worked until 37 weeks. I wanted to dedicated my last fews days to DD #2. This time I want to try and make it to the very last day so I can enjoy as much time with my

With my previous DD's i worked up until the week preceding giving birth.

This time around, I am soo miserable that I'm going out at 35 weeks. I don't get disabiity so my doctor doesn't have to sign papers or anything I just have to tell my boss and figure out my leave and let them know how I choose to take it. Which is what I am currently doing today.
