Get a real estate agent to sign you up for listingbook.com. I LOVED the site because you can search with all types of requests.

Re: What websites did you look for homes on?
I can sign you up for Listingbook, if you are interested. It's a more interactive version of MLS and provides more information.
But it's probably most efficient for you to work with a real estate agent who can help you streamline your search, preview properties for you, set up appointments -- esp. if you are pressed for time. The information available to consumers on real estate websites is much more limited and incomplete to what real estate agents have access to.
If you don't already have an agent, let me know if I can help you with your search. I am based on the south shore of Nassau, which is where I grew up. My office is in N. Bellmore, which is where I live, and I know Wantagh inside and out. I've successfully helped many LIF'ers find homes, and would be happy to help.
You can reach me via FM or at [email protected] or (516) 587-7618 (cell).
In any case, good luck with your search!

I used listingbook and redfin a lot when we were looking.
I also downloaded the realtor app and still use it to see what houses cost in the particular areas that I'm in at that moment.

Redfin on PC, and Realtor.com app on my phone. Those were my favorites.

I loved listingbook when we were looking. I was able to see if the price dropped, how long it was on the market, and so much more. I felt like a real estate agent, I was all over that ish.
