Homeowners insurance
We just went to contract on a house and were told to start getting quotes. I tried USAA (DH is military) but they were very high. I also just did a quote for Travelers. I have car insurance through Geico and pay very little. I prefer to not change my car insurance. Who else is reasonable?

Homeowners insurance
I have USAA for auto and we got a very reasonable quote through them so unfortunately I'm not any help to you. Does Geico offer homeowners? We got a pretty decent discount for having multiple policies with the same company.

Call Geico! They gave me a great quote through Naragansett Bay Insurance and I get a discount for having both car & home.

You can also contact a broker instead of direct companies. Brokers have access to companies that you would not otherwise have access too.
Just remember no matter who or what company you get a quote from make sure the coverages are EXACTLY the same so you get an accurate "apples for apples" quote. Hundreds can be cut off a quote by minor changes in coverage, but you don't want to be left underinsured in an emergency.

We had done great with State Farm when we purchased our home 4 years ago. But we called Geico in August and switched, it was like $175 cheaper and now we are also getting a multiline discount.

We are using a broker, but I can't remember who he wrote the policy with, but it was very reasonable.
