virus while pregnant?
I think I might have a virus, my stomach is killing me and its not the normal nauseous from my morning sickness that kinda stopped last week. Im 11 weeks and go to the dr next Friday, would you just ride it out or call dr and see what they say, I mean you cant do anything about a virus anyway right. anyone ever have a virus while prego, im sure its not great but can it do any damage to the baby?

If you are getting sick then I'd call the dr b/c of risk of dehydration. I know they usually send people to be admitted to the hospital for fluids while sick. You can always call the Dr to see what they say. Can't hurt.
Feel better

virus while pregnant?
I don't remembed how far I was but I had a 24 hr stomach virus while pg with DD. It was the only time I vomited the entire pregnancy and I think it was only 2 or 3 times. I didn't have a fever. I called my OB just to let them know and they told me to call my primary doctor, which really surprised me. I was fine 24 hours later. I would call your doctor just to see what they say. Feel better!

If can't keep any liquids down (or in) then call your OB. Otherwise keep drinking fluids and hopefully it will be over in 24hrs. I had a a stomach virus about 2 wks ago and i couldn't keep anything down so i had to go to the ER and was admitted over night for bad dehydration. feel better!!!!

I agree, I'd call the dr b/c if it's not a virus, you'll want to get treated properly.

Re: virus while pregnant?
I did at 6 weeks. The dr said if it continuesd for more than 24 hours to go to the hospital but around 8/9 hours after first getting sick I was able to sip ice pops and water and ginger ale so I was okay. Feel better!

virus while pregnant?
When I was around 12 weeks I had a stomach virus and was up puking for 17 hours straight. I kept drinking and then would puke it up later, but as long as I was peeing, I felt like I was absorbing things. If you are keeping liquids down, you're probably fine.

virus while pregnant?
I had one really early in first trimester, ds got it, then me then dh......
There is a liquid emetrol for nausea - over the counter and pregnancy safe.
I kept drinking the gatorade, I figured the body would absorb some of it, icepops helped too

Re: virus while pregnant?
When I was 17 weeks, I got a horrible stomach virus. Called LIJ and the OB nurse said to let the virus run its course and drink a ton of water and gatorade, even if it comes back up. She also said that if it lasts longer than 24hrs, then call back to maybe come in. I worried ab the baby too and she assured me that the baby is fine, as long as I try and stay hydrated. I hope you feel better!!!
