Evening gown for black tie, help me choose (w/ poll):
I have three dresses to choose between that caught my eye online... I had them shipped to me so I can try them on and see which one I like... Then, choose and return the other two... Can I have everyone's opinion on which one is your favorite, if any? Thanks!
Black Tie Wedding, Saturday night, October
1. Ralph Lauren Evening: (one side has a slit to the knee, the back has a pretty deep V but nothing drastic and it is pretty sequined throughout with lace)

2. BCBG Maxazria Evening: (there are two slits in the front by the legs which is cool and the lace part is sheer so it mimics a cut-out, back is the same as front w/o leg slits obviously)

3. Tadashi Shoji Evening: (the back is just the same as front with lace ending at the same point - not sure, b/c I didn't get it in person yet, how SHEER that lace is!! It is a family wedding so yeah NO if it is sheer)

#2. I have a maxi dress with a slit up one side and I feel like such a bombshell in it. But it's true! I want more dresses like it!

That particular one has TWO slits - one on each side which is really scandalous for me b/c I'm pretty conservative!
It's funny b/c I set out looking for a strapless evening gown with maybe a sweetheart neck and I ended up with three NON strapless dresses, so odd!

Re: Evening gown for black tie, help me choose (w/ poll):
OK, tried on the Ralph Lauren as it just arrived with the BCBG -- the RL is very classy, elegant - the slit is nice but not too much. There's no zipper! It goes over your head, the material is lace on the outside but as a bit of a jersey-knit underlay so it is super comfortable and very figure flattering. It's definitely beautiful, perfect length which is crazy for a long dress - usually you have to hem. It is nice and, actually, no zipper is better b/c then there's no zipper mark when you sit down or anything since it is figure hugging.
The BCBG is fun! It is jersey-knit and the two slits are very va-voom - in fact, I couldn't help myself but to twirl in the dress hahaha - however, it is a little outside of my comfort zone - the dress is more form fitting in person than it is in the model picture - also in the skirt.... which is a good thing, actually. And the zipper is in the back. It's a TINY bit long. Hemming is no big deal.
I like both in different ways - when Tadashi arrives later maybe that will help me decide.

I like the first one the best. I am also pretty conservative.
At first, I loved the top of the third one but the skirt reminds me of a sarong over a bathing suit.

Same here. I really love 1 and 3. I think I would need to see what they looked like on. I am not a fan of dress number 2 at all.

Re: Evening gown for black tie, help me choose (w/ poll):
Tried all three on and for my family for opinions...
Dress two is out, the top is nice, but the skirt with the two slits is not me!
Dress one is great, comfortable and flattering, it is very typical of what I usually wear...
Dress three is really so much nicer in person than even the pic... And the sarong thing is not even an issue in person, it looks nothing like that and the tie is very subtle and not even really a tie and the colors blend so it doesn't give that appearance at all... Also, the waste on me bc I have a short torso falls lower which is even more flattering... And most of all, it is unique, elegant and I have never worn anything like it before... Everyone in the fam agreed that number three is the one... DH loves it!
Yay! Thanks!
Sad about #2 bc if I needed more than one it would be great but I just don't... And the tadashi is made like a flipping Oscar dress it is sooooo well made! Omg comfortable too! Can't wait!
