Re: Black Tie Wedding

I usually wear a strapless dress since that is what I prefer to wear-- any length below the knee. Things can be dressed up with jewelry, bag, shoes, etc.

I have also worn two pieces-- I have a really nice, well-made, black satin pencil skirt that I have paired with something else appropriate.

Re: Black Tie Wedding

A gown...just make sure it doesn't look bridesmaid-y. I totally can tell people are wearing bridesmaids (recycled)gowns sometimes.

Re: Black Tie Wedding

I usually stick to a black gown. I have tons of them because I need them when I perform, as well, so I just go with that.

Re: Black Tie Wedding

We had a black tie wedding. People wore gowns and cocktail dresses. If they were cocktail dresses, they were black - nothing too hoochie.

Ditto. I have worn Black, dark purple, royal blue....it depends on the affair. Plus I ask ahead of time what the BP is wearing, as I do for most weddings.

My wedding was black tie...and people wore anything from gowns to cocktail dresses. Men wore dark suits and tuxes.
