Newborn size diapers

Hmm I am wondering how long babies wear them? I know it depends on their size and small babies may wear them 2 months or more. My sisters baby was average-ish 8.2lbs and wore them for a month.

I bought 2 boxes of 88 and figured that would suffice. Now I just got a diaper cake with another 120, lol! So thinking I should return one of my boxes. Or wait it out??

I would hold on to the receipt and if you don't need them you can exchange them for a size 1 for when that time comes.

Our DD was in NB size for almost 3 weeks.

My DS was 7lbs 6 oz/2.5 weeks early, and he was in NB for only about 3 weeks. I just about went thru 1 case of NB. I personally would return at least one of the boxes now that you have so many from the diaper cake.

Wait it out and see. Hold onto the reciept and use the diapers in the cake first.

There's no way to tell in advance (or even after they're born). DD was in NB for awhile and born at 6-14. My friend's son was born 2 weeks before DD and was only about 7 oz heavier at birth... but gained so quickly that he was out of them in 3 weeks.

eta: You're going to BF, right? Once that gets going you're going to use about 8-10 diapers a day. They won't last as long as you think!

My DD was 7lbs 4oz at birth, and was in newborn diapers for about a month or so.

DD was 7#2oz at birth but dropped down to 6#4oz at a week old so she lost a lot at first. She was in nb diapers for about 4-6 weeks. We needed two GIANT boxes (like the 140 diaper boxes) for her. 280 diapers = about a month. I think you should hang onto them. I didn't buy as many in advance this time but just signed up for amazon mom / amazon prime so I can get them delivered to the house in 2 days if we're running low.

My Dd was 7lb 14 oz, 19 in long so she was a "normal" size baby, she never wore NB diapers, they were too tiny on her. we went to size 1.

The hospital had him in size 1 so we used the one box of newborn we had at home and then went straight to 1s so I guess it was a week or 2.

My DS is 2 weeks old. We had him in nb for 2weeks but he was peeing through them. He is now in size 1. He was 7 lbs at birth.

DS was in size 1's at the hospital - he was 8lbs 5 oz.

DD was 7lb 2oz at birth and was in them for a couple of weeks.

I think alot depends on the baby. I would use the diaper cake first since you can't return those and then exchange the cases for the bigger size if you need them - although chances are you won't need all that you have.

dd was straight in 1's at the hospital too. She was 9 lbs 1 oz tho lol.

I'd return at least one box. the sizes overlap anyway. like nb is up to 10 lbs (not sureof exact weight, just using it as example) and the 1's are 8-15 lbs for example.

DD was born 3weeks early @6pounds 2oz. The hospital had her in a size one which was to big. As of yesterday at 6weeks she is 9pounds 3oz and and still is wearing nb size

DS1 was 8 lbs 1 oz at birth and wore them for at least a month. DS2 was 7lbs 11 oz at birth and wore them for about 5-6 weeks.

my son was 8.7 lbs - never wore newborn.

I think she was in them for about a month, maybe 6 weeks. She was born 7-11 and a peanut at first.

Hold on to them for now. My DS was 7.5 lbs and was in NB diapers for about 3 weeks. You just never know.
