DH working holidays
We just found out DH has to work on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. DD will be 20 months by then. DH is totally bummed about it.
Does anyone else have this kinda thing with holidays? What do you do? Celebrate a different day?
What about seeing family? We usually split Christmas Eve btwn. families and then have everyone here Christmas Day.
DH doesn't want to miss DD opening all of her gifts etc.
I know it's early. It's silly. It's just a vent.....

DH working holidays
I'm a nurse at a hospital. Working holidays is the norm for me. Fortunately,DHs fam does a big fat Italian christmas eve, and my fam does Christmas day. My mom and sister are both nurses at hospitals. And I'm half Jewish. So I have lots of options! You could have everyone over the day after Christmas. We did that with my mom, dad, brothers and sister last year. Or have a "Holiday Party" the Saturday before Christmas.

Re: DH working holidays
DH doesn't work many holidays anymore but when he was a resident, holidays were like every other day.
It was not a big deal if we celebrated the weekend before or after. Christmas is on a Tuesday this year. I'm sure your kids won't mind opening presents up on the weekend.
