Few questions...kitchen countertops, fencing, etc
What kind of countertops do you have? I don't know if we'll replace the ones in the new house before we move in or after but hopefully not TOO long from now. We're thinking of granite or corian but not sure...DH keeps talking about recycled porcelain? But I think its more expensive and more likely to crack
Also, does chain link fencing cost a lot? The lot of the house is almost an acre but it would just be the backyard getting fenced in...mostly so we can let our dogs go out and roam :)
If you refinished your basement, how did you go about deciding how to design it?

I have quartz countertops in my kitchen.
I chose quartz over granite because I really didn't like the colors of the granite I looked at, and also the quartz is easy maintenance, it does not need to be sealed. It does not scratch, I can put a hot pot on it without damaging the surface, and it does not stain.
They cost about the same.
I went with Cambria quartz in a color called Victoria

My contractor suggested Quartz as opposed to Corian, which I have now. I didn't like the granite color options, too busy for me.

Another quartz countertop here. I chose Cambria b/c it is a family owned American company (and I liked the color - Windermere).

We just got new countertops...we opted for Silestone (which is quartz and resin) because it is incredibly strong - it wont scratch, non-porous (so it doesn't get stained), and doesn't need to be resealed.
It was a little more expensive than we had planned for, but I cook pretty much every day so we wanted something that was durable and looked great.
We went with ECO By Cosentino because we wanted to keep things as Earth-friendly as possible with the renovation.
