i've had my life do a 360 the last year. as a i just celebrated a brithday, i'm saying a new year, new me. starting to wear make up. this might sound like a dumb/odd question...what's the purpose of powder and foundation. is it needed. any help you could provide, will be appreciated

Re: Foundation

foundation helps even out skin tone, minimize the appearance of pores & give an overall smoother appearance.

Powder helps set the foundation, or on its own, it can tone down redness & shine.

Whether or not you need it on a regular basis depends on your skin, but generally, if you are wearing a lot of make, for say a formal event, it looks for complete to have foundation on.

If you aren't used to it, you might want to start with a tinted moisturizer or Bare Minerals. (it's a mineral powder that acts as a foundation)

Re: Foundation

Might I also suggest a BB Cream since you are new to wearing foundation?

It doesn't feel as heavy, yet gives a nice smooth even look.
It doesn't look as "done" and "make upy" as a traditional foundation.

I LOVE Garnier BB cream. It's great on my bad skin.

Re: Foundation

I don't use foundation but I do like to use a tinted moisturizer. It's a lot lighter on my face.

I switched from foundation to the BB cream. I do a light coat of powder over it to set it...and add some concealer.

I don't think it's dumb at all, but I hope you did a 180 because a 360 puts you back where you were! heheh.

As far as foundation, start small. Maybe pick up some Bare Minerals or a tinted moisturizer.
