thoughts on having a sprinkle
I'm expecting baby #2, we already have a 17 month old son. We found out yesterday that we are having a
Would it be tacky to have a sprinkle? I did have a baby shower for DS. If I did have a sprinkle it would be at my moms house with my in laws, a couple of cousins, my aunts and grandmas -- maybe 20-25 women.
Help!

Re: thoughts on having a sprinkle
I had one. I fought my mom and mil for months. I didnt want on bc my son is almost 3 yrs old. Once they found out it was a , I was completely over ruled. Thankfully they did keep it very small. I think it was a total of 14 people. It did turn out very nice.

Do whatever you'd like!
My baby shower was only 20-25 people at my house (but hosted/organized by my SIL and two friends)! So your sprinkle sounds like my baby shower lol.
We had a baby-q -- a family bbq/cookout for friends. We hosted and it was co-ed and tons of kids and so much fun! We didn't ask for gifts but several people brought us some, which was sweet. (I have to work on my TYs tonight.) Some brought food to share, which was great too. Got a great quinoa and veggies recipe from one of DH's coworkers from the whole thing!
I totally registered this pregnancy but generally for myself. We got a few things from OOTers off the registry but I'm waiting for my amazon completion coupon to come in.
If your family wants to celebrate by all means, do it!!! Every baby is worthy of celebration.

Re: thoughts on having a sprinkle
DD is due when DS is about 32 months. I believe my sister/MIL are throwing a sprinkle for me not something I would request of plan for myself but I would not turn down the generosity of others.

Re: thoughts on having a sprinkle
I would love one but don't think anyone is planning one for me My husbands family doesn't really do them and my mom is not good with stuff like that. I am the one who planned my whole baby shower along with my husband. I say go for it though!

Re: thoughts on having a sprinkle
Go for it! We were going to have one for my sister but she wanted to surprise the rest of the family with the fact that she was having a girl (1st child was a boy). She was planning on only having immediate family and close aunts that would naturally be buying her something special anyways but since she didn't want to share the gender my mom and I just took her out to lunch one day and gave her a ton of pink girly things that we bought. I say celebrate it! :)

DS will be 27 months when is born. I am not expecting one, but don't see anything wrong with them. I don't know if I am going to need clothes or anything because we are going to stay team green.

Re: thoughts on having a sprinkle
There is nothing wrong with it, but it is a personal preference. DS will be almost 3 when DD will be born. Personally, I do not want one. I have made it very clear that if my mom insists, then it will be limited to my mom, sister and MIL at brunch.

Re: thoughts on having a sprinkle
It's up to you and what you are comfortable with.... I don't think there is anything wrong with having one and it's nice to get together with friends and celebrate your pregnancy. I had a surprise sprinkle last month. It was smaller than my baby shower and we got a lot of useful gifts that we needed.

Re: thoughts on having a sprinkle
I am of the mind set, that EVERY baby is a miracle and should be celebrated anyway momma wants
That being said, I had my baby like 4 min ago so don't think its appropriate for me to have one.
