Need All-inclusive recommendation for my destination wedding

So we are planning a destination wedding for memorial day weekend. Right now we are leaning toward the Ritz in Jamaica. We can get a great room rate as well as an all-inclusive rate but the reception is expensive. We originally chose the ritz because we cold use our marriott points but we cannot if we do all inclusive which we are leaning towards. So, we decided to check out other all-inclusives to compare. Any suggestions? It CANNOT be adults only and we don't want Mexico because you have to be there too many days before getting married. Ideas? We want a beautiful place with great food and beach. TIA!

We went as a regular vacation in a big group and had a blast. The food is ok as far as AI s are concerned. The beach was gorgeous. We saw a bunch of weddings on the beach and the setup was gorgeous. I had a friend get married at the other dreams in pc and she had an amazing experience.

I would stay away from the RIU chain. I find I very middle of the road. The grounds are nice, but rooms are basic and food is so-so.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but we are invited to a wedding at an ai during a holiday and room rates plus airfare are SKY HIGH. I mean more than double the typical cost. I just found it ironic that you mention using your hotel rewards points and wanted to give you a guest perspective. If you're not set on a holiday weekend you should seriously compare prices. Also, you should ask yourself if all your guests or most your guests will benefit from ai. Myself and dh don't drink much and would rather spend money on great food than lower end booze.

Of course, we have considered our options from our guests perspectives. First of all, this is a second wedding for both of us and it will be small, mainly consisting of family and close friends, all of whom are willing to travel to the ends of the earth to celebrate with us. That being said, memorial day is best so that our family with kids (and our own) can be there and not miss school (summer is not an option). We wanted to use points not just for ourselves but also because we were going to buy rooms for family with them. Plus other family members have lots of marriott points t o and wanted to use them. We initially weren't going to do AI but because the deal at Ritz was so good we decided to consider it so I was asking for recommendations for a point of comparison. Therefore, I am looking for recommendations.

Thanks to all who responded so far and I'd love to hear other's thoughts.
Nicole, I will def steer clear of Riu. Chat Icon

What about the Ritz in San Juan? It's a beautiful property but I'm not sure if they offer AI.

We've been there and while we liked it, we don't want it for our wedding. Thanks though.

We don't have to have AI, but we just want to see how it compares to the Ritz in Jamaica given the reception cost is so high at the Ritz. If an AI makes it way more expensive for our guests, but our reception cost much lower, we won't do it but if it is reasonable for us all, it may be an option.

Need All-inclusive recommendation for my destination wedding

Caribbean is a dream destination for visitors and specially for honeymoon couple. There are some good places where you can stay during your visit. I suggest looking at skyauction. Sunset beach Resorts are just fine in my opinion, and low-cost.

I was married at Sandals in the Bahamas arrived Monday and was married Thursday and they took care of everything. You can also live email stream to people at home that can watch your wedding live which is a great feature for those that can't make the trip. Hope that helps:) congrats and best of luck:)

I went to an AI wedding at Paradisis in Punta Cana and it was absolutely breath-taking. The grounds are beautiful, food was amazing and the staff was great.

We also went to Dreams in La Romana and I didn't like anything about it.

We ended up booking at Paradisus Palma Real, which is in Punta Cana but the sister resort to Paradisus Punta Cana. Which one were you at? So far we've only heard good things so we re really excited!
