Getting pregnant with #2 if you hated being pregnant and
hated the newborn phase.
I am really trying to psych myself up so DH and I can try for #2 (we always said we would start after DD turned 1, which she did on the 19th, because we want our kids close in age), but I HATED being pregnant. Every.second.of.it. I also HATED the newborn phase, and actually DD was very fussy and pretty much cried the first six months. We rocked her all day and night long, and pretty much never put her down.
Did anyone else go through this? Did you just go for it, or did you just wait until the memories had faded a bit more? I absolutely love how much fun DD is now and every day she is more and more awesome, and I try to focus on that.

Every pregnancy is different. I know people that that had a very difficult pregnancy and went on to have easy pregnancies after that. I have also seen it in the reverse. You never know.
I too hated the infant stage. I was dreading my due date knowing that the infant stage would coming. While I didn't love it - it was definitely easier. I wasn't as nervous or anxious with my second. My second is also a much easier baby. He began sleeping through the night at 4 months and my older son who was turning 2 was still coming into our room at night.
You just never know. Just think about how amazing your child is now and how fun it will be with two.

I thought giving myself more time to "forget" the pregnancy stage and newborn stage would do the trick. DS will be 3.5 when DD comes, and as soon as I got pregnant all the memories came flooding back to me. Now I think it might have been better to have them closer in age.

I had a pretty rough prgnancy and hated the newborn stage. DS1 needed to be held 24/7. It was awful. We waited quite a while before TTC #2 and our kids are 3.5 years apart. FWIW, I had a much easier pregnancy the second time around and really enjoyed it. I'm also enjoying the newborn stage a lot more although I still don't love it.

Re: Getting pregnant with #2 if you hated being pregnant and
I could have written this!!! Im currently almost 33 weeks pregnant with number 2.
I had to kind of force it.. my son is 2.5 now. But I wanted him to have a sibling.. im also 36 so it was now or never... just bit the bullet and did it.
Oh and people Lie!! The second time does NOT go faster!!!
Sorry I can't make it rosey.. still hate every second of it.. (except feeling him move).

Re: Getting pregnant with #2 if you hated being pregnant and
We just went for it. I figured there's no turning back and if it sucked again it would pass. I was not even close to the way I was sick with ds1. I had a little morning sickness with ds2- with ds1 I had 24 hour/9 month sickness. Also, the labor was easy. With ds1 it was like being abducted and abused by aliens. With ds2 the epi was great and fifteen minutes later I was literally up walking around. The nb stage is always rough but I want nearly as tired for some reason. Well, first off the rock n play was priceless and we didn't have it for ds1. Also I guess I just knew what I was doing so I could soothe him more easily.

Yeah, I guess I will just have to bite the bullet and hope it isn't as bad. I was so useless from the morning sickness last pregnancy (and going in didn't know morning sickness can last well past the am). That is just not an option now that I have dd.
Ugh, I just don't want to be pregnant again. Wah

Re: Getting pregnant with #2 if you hated being pregnant and
I didn't hate being pregnant or the newborn stage but I had a really rough 1st pregnancy and my first dd had awful colic. My second pregnancy was a breeze no complications and my second dd is the most easy going baby I've ever encountered. So just remember just because the first time around wasn't easy doesn't mean the second will follow the same path.

We were the same way and I can tell you my 2nd pregnancy was rougher then the 1st, but going from 1 to 2 was seriously awesome! I was so surprised! Just do it. It's rough, but having dd be so young it was a blessing. We watched a lot of tv, played inside a lot and in general having her a young toddler was nice. She wasn't as active as she is now! It's a great age to have a 2nd. She was 15 months when we got pg and I loved it. I can't imagine having a pregnancy like I had and having my dd be almost 3 now. She is so full of energy...I would go insane lol.

I feel the same except I had a very easy newborn. I HATED being pregnant. I never want to go through it again. That said, I want another baby and I want them close in age. DS turns 1 next week and I though I would be preggo by now but its been hard to pull the trigger as well. Like you, Im just going to have to dive in head first because there's really no way around it.

I feel the same way. The first time "ignorance was bliss".. I didn't know what to expect with pregnancy and the dreaded newborn phase! Now I know and I'm freaking out just thinking about getting preg.

Re: Getting pregnant with #2 if you hated being pregnant and
DS is 7 months today-- and things have gotten easier over the last couple of months. Months 1 to 3 were actually easy after I recovered from a horrific delivery, and months 3 to 6 sucked. I hated being preg both times and the second time did go faster for me, because I was focusing on my daughter. I am so happy I have my son, but I am SOOO HAPPY I never have to be pregnant or give birth again!!!
