Pediatrician for LIJ NHP delivery?

Pediatrician for LIJ NHP delivery?
First-do I need to select a Pediatrician that is affilated w/my hosptial so they can see the baby right after birth; or if I choose a non affilated Pediatrician do I just have the baby see who ever is on staff and then make my appointment when we get home?
Second-can anyone recommend a good Pediatrician affilated with LIJ NHP that offers weekend appointments if I need to pick one with the hospital?
Third-if not anyone have a good Pediatrician in the south nassau/Queens area that has weekend appointments??

Pediatrician for LIJ NHP delivery?
You do not need to pick a ped affiliated. The on staff Dr will se your dc regardless. If you picked one that was and they happened to be at the hospital they would just check then.

You can pick any ped and just use a staff Dr.
I did that at Good Sam because I didn't even pick a Dr until after DS was born.

Your pediatrician doesn't have to be affiliated with LIJ. I am delivering at LIJ and I also did with DS and DD and a staff doctor saw them. About 2 days after I was home we saw our pediatrician.
