Ovulation ?

I have extremely weird cycles (last two have been between 45 and 50 days), so I started using the cheap ovulation tests to get an idea when I would ovulate. I got a positive reading on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of last week (Days 41, 42 and 43). I didn't test on Friday. Any thoughts as to when I actually ovulated? We BD each of those days, but not sure when I should actually expect AF if I'm not pregnant.

Anyone have any experience or input?

The opks detect your LH surge so you probably O'd at least at one point during those 3 days. It was good that you BD'd those days too so you most likley caught your O. Its hard to say without Friday's reading too.

Usually an LP is around 14 days, although it can be longer or shorter. It really just depends on each individual.

Honestly though, the only way to really confirm when you O is through temping. Especially since your cycles are so long, I would recommend trying that as well.

do you have PCOS? this sounds very typical of PCOS - long cycles, long LH surges that may not result in ovulation or delayed ovulation. i would DEF absolutely start temping. check out fertilityfriend.com or read Taking Charge of Your Fertility it will break the whole thing down for you. if you find you are getting +OPK that aren't followed by ovulation, then you need to see a doctor and have bloodwork done.

did you recently come off BCP? that could also be a reason your body may be sluggish in producing the correct hormones at the appropriate times.

also are you sure they were all positive? when I first started using the OPKs, (and I used the cheap ones off the internet) I thought I was getting three days of positives but I learned I was getting what is called a "fade-in" where small amount where detected but my second line was there but not really as dark as the test line. So I was not really getting a positive until the third day. They do say for people with long fade-ins you should still start BD when you get the first reading but it's generally not positive until the darkest one. .

Thanks so much for the replies. I had a miscarriage in early January and nothing has been the same since. I have 2 healthy children at home and had no trouble conceiving either time. I had my endocrinologist check for PCOS last week, but haven't heard back (which he said means everything is good). I have an appointment to see my OB in two weeks, but sometimes I feel I get more information on here. I am pretty sure I got 3 positives since I was testing for about 2 weeks before I saw the first positive. Hoping I actually ovulated and it works this month!!!
