How do you know you are in labor if your water didn't break?

Lost my MP last night, had period like cramping few times today and also strong BH contractions (or are they regular contractions? I don't know) I just had 7 between 7pm and 7:48 pm. I have also been feeling a lot of preassure , like baby kicking and pushing down more.
I called my OBs office, the nurse said it's normal to lose your MP 2 weeks before you go in labor, and not to worry , but then I keep hearing you can go in labor within 24 hrs after losing a MP.
I def feel like something is starting, but not sure wheI should be calling the dr . My only fear is that I wait too long and then they can't do a CS or will end up needing an emergency CS . I can't do VB because of some health issues and all the scar tissue I have, so I need to get to the hospital way before my labor is too far gone.

I had been having mild irregular contractions for a few days, but I knew I was in labor when they got closer together and became more consistent

In my experience, the contractions were completely different than BH contractions. They hurt more and were more intense and they just kept coming and coming. For me, I had to pee really really badly with every single contraction. They just kept happening... first every 10 minutes for an hour, then every 8 minutes the next hour, then every 6 minutes. Then one of the times I ran to the bathroom during a contraction I saw globs and globs along with blood. They never slowed down and they never got spaced further apart. Nothing -- no water, no walking, no position changes -- changed them or their frequency.

Did they give you a # in an hour to call at? I was told 8-10 in one hour to call. Then he said to give it another hour and let him know how many then. I had 14 the next hour I timed them.

If they keep happening, call the OB back tonight and see what they say. Because of your situation, it's better safe than potentially delivering on the way to the hospital! I hope you feel better!

I was having a contraction every 10 mins for a day or so... And then they started coming faster... I was keeled over in pain and a warm bath didn't do anything. They actually got worse and that's when I knew it was time for the hospital. My water didn't break until I was in the delivery room. Oh and just 2 days before this, I had lost my mp so don't listen to the nurse. I actually had a doc appt the morn I lost the mp and my cervix was checked and doc said nothing was going on!!! Yeah, well that baby came 2 days later!

I never lost my mucous plug and my water didn't break either. I just started getting contractions every few minutes.
