Plane attire for overnight flight
Dh & I are traveling to Rome in late September on our first overnight flight (leave here 940 & arrive in Rome 1240pm their time).
What is good attire to wear also considering their daytime temps are around 75-80. We may not have access to our luggage right away. I was thinking gauchos or a terry short sleeved jacket & pants but I can't find them.

Whenever I fly I dress for comfort-like acceptable loungewear in public comfort. I wear loose black yoga pants, a tank, and a light sweater. I also pack an arsenal of supplies-neck pillow, socks, eye mask, earplugs, and a lightweight blanket.

I usually wear jeans and a tank with a cute scarf or something to the airport but then will change at some point on the plane to yoga pants, and then back to jeans again right before we land.

K. I love you but gauchos?
How about shorts/capris with a tank and flip flops (take off on plane, feet swell) and I bought a cardigan with me because its always chilly on the plane.

We just had a similar flight going to Spain and I wore shorts and a tank. Always had a light sweater in my carry on.

Re: Plane attire for overnight flight
I flew overnigth to Barcelona last September. It was unusually hot here the day we left, but I dressed mostly for the plan. I wore chinos--they are are my flying pants. becaue the waist band isn't as annoying as jeans ( I usually wear skirts IRL, but on planes I dont like to wear skirts b/c I don't want my bare legs on the seats & then I don't wear socks & have the barefoot issue in security.) I think wore it with a t-shirt , cardigan & scarf.
I subtle unhooked my bra on teh plane, sinxe I can't sleep wearing one, but I couldn't sleep anyway.
It was pretty hot when we got to Barcelona, were walking around b/c our room wasn't ready, so I took off the cardigan & scarf, but I would rather wear pants on the plane & a little hot later.

I would wear yoga pants and a t-shirt or tank with a zipper up sweatshirt or light jacket. You can always put a clean shirt or sundress in your carry on.

Ditto! I would layer, those flights get so cold and I would also bring a pair of socks to put on the plane. Maybe also a small throw blanket.

D, I have no style lol. I was thinking comfort but maybe I'll do the capris with the tank, flip flops & cardigan. I've never done this long of a flight nor overnight. I wanted those terry capris with jacket but can't find...

Re: Plane attire for overnight flight
You want to be comfortable but presentable.
I travel a lot internationally (lots of long over night flights and many times completely different season). I dress in light layers. Usually it is leggings, long tank, long sleeve t-shirt, and a heavy wrap sweater, pashmina and flats. I don't personally travel in flip flops because i don't like my feet all exposed.
In my carry on I keep a pair of socks, a light travel blanket, a small make-up bag with tooth brush, tooth paste, deodarant, face wash and face lotion. I also have a pair of socks, pair of underwear and sometimes a spare shirt. If I know for sure I won't be able to get to my luggage then maybe a change of clothes.
If you are going straight to your hotel there is a good chance you room will be ready if you are landing at 12:30.

i would wear yoga pants or similar cotton pants, a t shirt or tank, and a wrap sweater. nothing ratty, but still very comfortable. maybe throw another shirt and a thin skirt or pair of pants (something that doesn't take up a ton of room) in your carry on.
oh, and maybe a change of undies!
actually, my husband always makes me pack a change of clothes in my carry on, in case our checked luggage gets delayed/lost. it's a superstition thing. if we are going somewhere beachy he makes me back a bathing suit too!

This is my go to flying outfit - especially when flying long trips.
It's comfortable for the long flight, you have a sweater for the flight and you can take it off when you land.
I hate wearing socks and shoes for that long especially when I have to sleep. I prefer flip flops - easy to slip on and off.

anything comfortable. I have these bright pink crocs that I wear on planes because my feet have plenty of room. Also any comfy pants & a t-shirt & I bring a hoodie on with me in case I get chilly.

Re: Plane attire for overnight flight
I usually wear a dress and or leggings with a cardi. I'll wear comfortable flats or flip flops in the summer and boots in the winter.
Depending on the length of the flight ( I travel to Australia about once a year) I will pack an extra outfit in case my luggage is lost or there is a delay (once DH spilled OJ on me on a 24 hour flight) On flights longer than 12 hours I pack yoga pants and a comfy tee with a cardi in addition to an extra outfit.
Also extra socks and underwear ( at least 3).

Re: Plane attire for overnight flight
I would do a sweatsuit on the plane - like something cute and comfy, terry cloth, etc. and I would do layers - like a tank underneath the jacket b/c I get SO cold on flights - that way, you can try and sleep and be warm, then I'd bring in my bag a pair of casual/light capris - take off the pants and the jacket before you land, put on the capris and go - that way, when you get outside and it is warm you don't die of heat- but you are still good on the plane when I BET it'll be cold! HAVE FUN!!
