how much do you tip at the salon?
its been about a year since ive gotten my hair cut and colored (awful i know). i am trying a new place. they are a salon...with prices like $45+ for hair cuts and $85+ for highlights.
i am getting a cut and either highlights or a full dye...do you tip off the charged amount? i.e. 20% or do you always just give a certain amount like 10, 15, 20? etc.

I don't get color so my cuts are $35...I tip my stylist $10 and the shampoo girl/guy $5.

Depending upon how much I like the cut and blow out 15-20%. Shampoo girl $3 unless she is exceptional.

20% and $5-$7 to the girl who washes my hair. I always get it colored so she usually puts my ends on for color and washes it out.
