it had good reviews on amazon. the Summer Infant brand also had good reviews but this one seemed slightly better to me.

Re: Baby Monitor
This one and I LOVE it. Haven't used it with baby yet but tested it out and it is wonderful... Very clear, both audio and video, plays lullabyes, tells you the temp in the room, it's fantastic.

Re: Baby Monitor
Summer Slim and Secure Plus
Switches to night vision when the lights are off and full color during they day and when the lights in the room are on. Also has an intercom button I can talk to the baby thru and I can switch it from video and sound to just sound.
It was $200 at BRU and then they were running a special if you bought it you got a $30 gift card so not too bad price wise either.

Re: Baby Monitor
I guess you mean video? For audio, I have this sony one:
http://www.amazon.com/NTM-910YLW-Sony-Baby-Nursery-Monitor/dp/B000S35QLC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1345515942&sr=8-1&keywords=sony+audio+baby+monitor
I have the cheapest video monitor ever for DD:
http://www.albeebaby.com/summer-infant-day-and-night-baby-video-monitor-02620.html
The video picture on it is GREAT and I love that it's got a very easy to tap button to turn it on and off on my night stand in the middle of the night. But the audio on it is terrible so we keep it on silent. Since DD is upstairs and we're downstairs, we need audio. I actually had registered for and received that audio monitor before DD was born and didn't buy the video until later on. It's actually the perfect combo.
I also have a drop cam which is an internet video camera that you can view on the computer and even set it up so grandparents can see it or whomever you want. It has apps for the iphone/ipad too. I love how it also keeps track of movement overnight so I can look at it and see what time DD got up in the morning (since sometimes she plays for a while in bed before I hear her now). It has about a 7 second delay, though, which I'm still not used to. Once baby #2 comes, I'm going to use the drop cam for DD (she'll be almost 2 then) and the video monitor for DS.

Re: Baby Monitor
I have this one for DS and like it. I have the one with 2 receivers. I leave one plugged in on my nightstand (because I have stayed asleep when it gives a warning beep before it dies!!) And I have the other one downstairs that I plug in as needed. I like that it has a noise activated mode, so it only turns on when ds makes noise. That way I don't have to hear the white noise from his fan or a/c all night!
