35+ w - tell me if you are having braxton hicks a lot?
I am having them SO MUCH ! They have become so long and so painful I can't stand it , it's been going on on and off since last Thu. I mostly get them at night start around 8pm and they go on till 7am or so. I mentioned it to my OB and she wasn't worried, she said my servix is closed and as long as I'm not having more than 5+ per hour it's ok, I told her I have them almost every hour 2-5 per hr during the night and she sid that's "nothing to be worried about" I drink so much water so I don't think it's from that, I have also been trying to relax and take it easy a but more , as much as I can. I had the same thing happen when I was pregnant with DD , but they started around 27 w and I started dialating so was admitted to the hospital few times, but this time around they are not making a big deal out of it since I'm already 35 w. my OB said "listen, if you go in labor at this point it'll be fine, baby will be fine , you are already 35 w. and baby looks great" So I just stay up all night, uncomfortable and in pain. I'm actually having them as I'm typing, just looked at the clock and this is the 4th one I'm having this past hour . I guess I'll go drink some more water and see what happens. Anyone else in the same situation?

YUP! 36w tomorrow and same here. At my drs appt on Friday i told them and they werent concerned and I even opted OUT of getting an internal. I have another appt on Thursday...i am going to try to get away with another internal but i doubt it. DH has a BIG test on the 31st so im trying to get this baby to stay put until after that, so I dont want an internal stirring anything up more than it probably arleady has started!

I've been getting tons of BH too. I'm almost 38 wks now. I drink lots of water and try to take it easy. My Dr. is not concerned. My internal showed 60% effaced and 3 cm dilated. She said the contractions help get them in position (head down) and low. IDK

I get internals every time I go, I always have (high risk , was going by weekly and now weekly since 27 w) I actually asked my OB last week maybe we shouldn't do internals each visit now that I'm so close and keep having so many BH but she said they absolutely have to , so I got one last week and it hurt too, she can feel the baby's head when she does internals, but no change in cervix so far .

I'm only 32 weeks but I get them constantly and sometimes they're painful, especially at night. It's so so hard to find a comfy position. Same thing happened to me last pregnancy with DD. I had a very quick L&D at 39 w 5 d (6.5 hours start to finish). I'm hoping DS shows up a little sooner, but just as quickly.

Yes. Mine don't hurt too bad though. They're more distracting than anything.

Im wondering why they HAVE to give you an internal? They really are just to stir it up in there to bring labor on.
