Can you tell me if this is Braxton Hicks

All of a sudden, in the middle of my belly, just above my belly button, I got this tight, tight, tight sensation. It almost felt like the baby was trying to push its way out, and I actually think my stomach moved in that particular spot when it happened.

It happened on and off about 6 or 7 times in the past 10 minutes and seems to be gone now.

Does this seem like Braxton Hicks? I have never experienced them yet so not sure what they feel like.

Oh and I will be 31 weeks on Monday

I think it is-someone I know who just had her baby told me that's what BH felt like.

for me Braxton hicks is a tightening of my entire stomach...it will get so tight and you can actually see my stomach move up somewhat. It will last about a minute unless I change positions, then its usually alot shorter.

It shouldnt happen 6 or 7 times in 10 minutes though, my dr. said a few times a day is ok (although I only get them a few times a week!) and to call if It happened more than 4 times in an hour.

Are you sure the baby just isnt nudging you really hard? My constantly sticks what I think is a foot into my right side all the time and it feels like a very tight sensation as well

It definetly could be nudging of some body part. Not sure though and thats what scares me. I mean I am not in pain or anything so I am sure everything is ok, just weird to feel a sensation I am not used to I guess. Thanks for your reply

I don't think I've had any BHs yet, but what you're describing sounds like what I feel when the baby nudges me--It gets hard in one spot and I can usually feel a limb (or something). Then when the LO moves away, my stomach moves.

I get this sometimes too! I think its just the baby pushing on my belly. i think BH is when your whole stomach gets tight....but not positive about this.

I've been having BH for several weeks now, but it's more like my entire stomach gets really really tight. DH can feel the difference too. I've had pressure like that, but I think it's just the baby's position. I'm glad it went away! A lot of times they say to get up, move around, and drink some water and see if that changes things. I've read that BH are never painful, and that's a big difference in telling BH from preterm labor.

This sounds more like the baby trying to shift position.
If you had 6-7 BH in 10 min that would be an issue.
BH feels like your entire stomach tightening up.
