Interfaith families- did you do a baby blessing?
If so, what age?
I'm Christian and dh is Jewish. We are raising our girls to celebrate both religious traditions, but won't having a baby naming or a christening.

No, we did not. We did have a really big first birthday though. If I was religious enough to want some sort of formal blessing I would have pushed for an actual religious ceremony. I personally feel like baby blessings are a weird half way sort of thing and for me unnecessary.

Re: Interfaith families- did you do a baby blessing?
We joined the Unitarian Religion and love it - people have christian and jewish backgrounds there among other beliefs too. You can make the blessing personalized to work for you. All is welcome in a unitarian church and you can incorporate both religions into your life in any way that works for you.
Good Luck and congrats !
edited to add - you can at any age- our son's dedication/blessing was when he was 6 months old (I would have done it sooner but I was still trying to figure things out up until around when he was 3-4 months. ) but you can do younger or much older - up to you.

Re: Interfaith families- did you do a baby blessing?
I was raised Catholic and dh was raised Jewish. We did a baby blessing for both kids and will for baby #3 too. We used Rev. Deb who performed our wedding ceremony too. It was basically a combination of both religions. We had the blessing with oil and water and the kids were both given Hebrew names.

We had an interfaith baby welcoming ceremony performed by the same priest and rabbi who married us. It was at the rectory of the priest's church. We are raising DD as both religions. FM me for any info; we are really happy with our ceremony, even 3 years later.

Re: Interfaith families- did you do a baby blessing?
my SIL is jewish and my brother was raised Lutheran.
They did a baby naming in their backyard when Jovie was about 7 months. It was small but beautiful! Not overly religious but there was a Rabbi.
i do believe they plan to raise their DD Jewish though.
