Spin off to changing sheets..poll
I love using the flat sheet but DH hates it so we usually dont. We have a duvet that I wash weekly so I guess we really dont need it.

DH gets really hot at night so he sleeps with only the flat sheet. I use the big duvet.
In the winter (or when we're both cold), we only use the blanket, no flat sheet at all.

i always had to have a comforter, but never used a flat sheet-it would end up bunched at the bottom of my bed and i just gave up
fh insisted upon a flat sheet though, so now i use one

I like it- I feel like it keeps the comforter clean and also when I make the bed I like it to show.
DH hates it- says it gets bunched up at his feet and all tangled.
So in the past no flat sheet.
But with our new bedding I have been strict about it- and I find that now that we make the bed each morning (we never used to ) it stays neater and he doesn't complain about it getting bunched up or twisted anymore.

Since I started living with DH. I never used it before but now we use it every night. It's in between us and the comforter.

Other - LOL
DH never used one and I always did. So I make the bed with it, and DH pushes it towards the middle of the bed so there's this barrier between us. It's SO annoying!!! On the nights i go to bed after him, or in the middle of the night, i usually push it back onto him a bit so theres not a lump inbetween us!

We use it. With down comforter in the winter. And a lighter blanket in the summer.
