Moms of 2 or more - hospital question
Did any one not have DC #1 come up to the hospital when the baby was born?
I'm debating just sending DD to daycare the days I'm in the hospital.
There is only a 2 hour window in which she can visit, and it seems like more of a hassel to have someone bring her there and back.
I'm having a c-section, so I will be there a few days. If I did have her come up, it would only be one day.

Have her come up the second day when you aren't hooked up to the IV and machinery which could freak her out.
She won't know the difference, so make it easier on yourself and send her to daycare.

I wouldn't have her come until the 2nd day, but wondering if it's even worth it for only 2 hours. She will definitely be going to day care the other days that I'm in the hospital.

Moms of 2 or more - hospital question
I had a v-birth so I was there less than 48 hrs after DS 2 was born but, I didn't have DS 1 come. We figured it would be a huge hassle (the hospital was 30 minutes away, he was having a great time with my parents) and we didn't know how he'd react to leaving me in the hospital with the new baby.
DS 2 was born on a Sat evening so I came home Monday afternoon while DS 1 was at daycare. We got all settled in and then picked up DS 1 to introduce him to his new brother. I think things went very well.

Re: Moms of 2 or more - hospital question
When I had #2, my oldest was only 10.5 months. He came to the hospital the day the baby was born bc my brother in law had him at his house & my parents drove 400+ miles to see the new baby & tad my oldest back to our house. My oldest did come back 1 other day with my parents only bc he was missing me. He was unable to see his brother bc he was so premature & in the NICU. I think it was great for my oldest to come jut bc e was so young but knew mommy & daddy were missing.

I had a csection too. My dd (21 months) waited in the waiting room with my parents and brother while I had my csection. She came up to see me for every single visiting hour no way could I be away from her that long. I only stayed 2 days and signed myself out. I couldn't take being away from her that long. I admit I'm a little crazy when it comes to my girls. I never like leaving them though. My dd was really good at the hospital. We had our iPad there too so she kept busy with that while I had my csec. In the hospital room she just wanted to sit with me.

Re: Moms of 2 or more - hospital question
When my twins were born i was admitted prior to their birth for bed rest. I was not on the maternity floor and they would not let my son visit b/c it was in the middle of the swine flu hype. After the were born they were both in the NICU and I went back to the same room. I was on some meicines for pre eclampsia that made me very tired and a little loopy. We decided to let him stay home.
Because nobody could see the babies anyway, my mom, sister and in laws took turns staying and playing with my DS while i was there. He did fine. He was busy and loved being spoiled. I missed him way more than he missed me.
