Progesterone Supplements

I just got my BFP last week and have my first sono this Friday with my RE. I'm so so hoping for a sticky baby.

My MFM wants me to take progesterone supplements as a precaution (I've had 2 losses in 1 year). They said I should take it 2x a day in the AM and PM. They also said it should be refrigerated by kept at room temperature until inserted.

How do you guys do it? Before or after showering? Do you have to lie down after for a while?

I have a feeling my RE will be pissed I'm taking a rx from my OB/MFM but my RE didn't help me get prego - he did some testing on me but I got prego on my own. I did say when I met with him it would be ok to take it. Yet I'm going to see him on Friday. I'm so confused!!!

Thanks in advance!

Because of your history of losses, i don't think your RE will have a problem with you taking the progesterone supps. But, he should readlly do bloodwork to determine what your progesterone levels are.
If you do end up taking them, they do not need to be refrigerated, but should be kept at room temperature. I would insert one in the morning and then I would lay down for at least ½ 45 minutes for it to properly absorb. I would take another at night, right before bed (After i had showered)

Thanks - they had tested my level and it was normal but they wanted to put me on it as a precaution. It can't hurt, right?

Progesterone Supplements

My OB prescribed it to me just as a precaution before she got my levels back. I took it in the am about an hour before I would normally get up so that I had time to lay back down and let it work and then I took it in the pm when I went to bed.

I did it in the am right before I got in the car to drive to work (I have a 45 minute commute) and then at night I usually did it after I put my daughter to bed and I could sit down on the couch for a bit.
