Family boat trip...
What should I bring? My parents are getting a big boat for the whole family to sale around. An anniv gift for themselves. They like to plan some cute adventures since there are 8 grandchildren.
Anyway, I have a 1 and 3 yr old. My parents are taking care of food and ill bring the usual bag of stuff for the kids... Diapers, wipes, snacks, sippy cups, etc What about my 1 yr old. He's 13 months and doesn't walk yet, but crawling and cruising everywhere. Should I take a portable PnP? Don't want to take a stroller on the boat. We'll be out s couple of hours. Don't want to hold him he whole time either. My sister has a 6 month old so figured they can share the PnP and my sister is taking her bjorn, but obviously DS is too big for that. Thanks

Are you going to be stopping anywhere? A pop up cabana tent would be nice if you are. This way they can crawl around in the shade. Even a small blow up pool that you can fill with a bucket might be fun.
I'm not sure how a bjorn would work since they have to be in a life jacket on the boat. I think the pnp would work better.

Find out if you are stopping, that way you can bring some beach toys. Otherwise I wouldn't bring anything else. I think the pack n play will slide around to much and might take up to much room. I would just let him crawl around and give him some toys to play with.
Make sure the boat has life vests that will fit all the kids, including your nephew. I know the coast guards are strict with that when your on the move.

I just had DD (12 months) in a bjorn. She's 75% for height/weight too. She loved it. (She was crying during DSs' tennis lesson and it calmed her down"
We are going to Niagra and I'm thinking of putting her in the bjorn too for some activities.

Re: Family boat trip...
DS is almost 15 months old - and I have 2 baby gates on our boat to keep him contained in the cabin. He has some freedom, but can't get into any trouble. (He's not completely comfortable, as he's in his life jacket the whole time - but that's not negotiable for us.)
I do have a pop up tent - which he loves to play in. We have that up on our bed and he plays in there sometimes....but I couldn't live without the gates!

I use a thing called the peapod for my son on our boat. For us, it serves as a portable screen house really. I bring a few toys, zipper him in there and then sit back and have a cocktail. Everyone's happy.
