Can anyone give me some info on this. I am a slp for the nyc doe and I was wondering if I have a baby over the summer and want to take sept off so the baby is a little older when it starts daycare would I be paid for sept through fmla and if so how much?

when are you due? fmla just offers you a protected lleave- no guarantees aboutpayment. money is based on your employer.

FMLA entitles you to 12 weeks. You should check your employee handbook.

Fmla is unpaid - you would have to check with your employer to see what they pay for maternity leave...

FMLA only entitles you to your employer holding your position for you while you're out for up to 12 weeks. You can take it within the first 12 months of having your child. No one is guaranteed any pay during FMLA in NYS. You would have to see if the DOE has paid maternity leave or what your short term disability policy entitles you to but that is only immediately after the birth.
