How far in advance do you fill out FMLA/maternity leave paperwork?
Everyone in my office knows that I am due in March.
I don't know when I'm supposed to give them an official date and fill out the paperwork.

Well, I went out unexpectedly and called while I was in the hospital. If I had done the regular maternity leave, I probably would have told them about a month before.

My HR told me about a month before. I'm due Feb 17th so they told me to call back after the new year and they'll send it out to me.

I told our corporate office about it about one month beforehand but didn't fill out the paperwork until the week I left. I was a scheduled c so I knew when I was going out.

I am due March 1, and I did all the paperwork already I just have to call when i go out, and give them my last day...

I just submitted my paperwork for my 6 weeks medical leave. I am not submitting my 12 week FMLA paperwork until I am sure my DH will be employed. I can do it right up until the last day I am supposed to return so with this economy I am waiting til the last minute.
But unless the worst thing was to happen I plan on being out for the 6 weeks medical, then 12 weeks FMLA and come back to work in Sept.
