Pigeon Toed
My DS is just about 20 months and his feet are turning in more and more. It's not to the point where it's affecting his walking or anything but I want to get it corrected now that he's still a baby. What do they do to help this? Thanks!

Re: Pigeon Toed
DS had that. We originally took him to the pediatrician and he did see that his feet were turning in...one more than the other. We took him to a specialist and they recommended some exercises for him to do to strengthen the muscles in his legs and near his feet. He is almost 6 now and he is walking fine now The specialist said that they don't run to do surgery or put a brace on as fast as the did many years ago. They try other things so it resolves on its own. I would take him to the pediatrician and just share your concern...it will ease your mind. I was so worried too about DS when it was happening to him

Pigeon Toed
I am pigeon toed and my parents were given the option of surgery or leave it and have therapy and wear special shoes. The opted for therapy. The orthopedist also told them if I were a boy they wouldn't do anything because it would actually help in sports. I walk fine today and haven't had any therapy since early elementary school.

Re: Pigeon Toed
DD turns in one foot a lot. Both the ped and the orthopedist (I took her to one around 18 months) have said it will likely correct itself over time, they are not overly concerned about it (she is 2 now).
