separate tub and shower or a combo?
OK-So, I have been obsessing over bathroom renovations. At first, hubby said he wanted to get rid of our bathroom closet (about 1 1/2 deep by 3 feet) and a tiny closet in our bedroom that shares a wall with the bathroom so that we could have a separate shower and tub. I'm thinking that's a lot more work and we should keep the closets (since they're not that wide anyway) and work with our existing layout. Any input would be appreciated!

Our house was built with it seperate. Honestly, I have never used the tub. Maybe if I had kids it would be good because it is nice and deep. Sometimes I say I want to take out the tub and expand our shower to a two person but my husband says that it would be bad if we decide to sell it.
Good luck whatever you choose!

I'm renovating my bath now, the old one had a a separate shower and tub. I took out the shower and put in a tub. For me thought it's beens years since I was able to have a relaxing bath, my apt only had the stand up shower. I personally have an obsession with storage and have more closets than I need. I would go with the tub.

I choose "other" lol. We only have a shower stall and it is annoying .I think I would like to have just a tub, it wouldn't bother me that the shower is in the tub.

I may be in the minority here, but I say skip the tub entirely and go with a nice large shower.
I guess it depends on the available space. However, if you're going to do a seperate tub and shoewr, the tub and the showre both need to be big. You should not have a small neo-angle shoewr and a tub. and if you're going with a seperate tub, it should be a large tub, otherwise whats the point?
we did out master when we did a big renovation, we made a large master bath, and have a 4x3 shower, its nice. We also put in a huge tub (Kohler Tea for Two 5.5'), its great when you use it. we went almost a year without using it. We finally have used it a few times. if I could do it over agin, I'd probably skip the tub and make the shower bigger, and use the space somewhere else. it would have both made the job cheaper, and gotten me more space somewhere else.

We have a separate shower and tub and I hate it. The large garden tub looks nice, but never gets used. I would prefer a double sink and shower/tub combo.
