Registering for a second baby
I would like a few little things - since this is a winter baby and DS was a spring baby. Is it appropriate to register again or should I just pick up the things? I have no clue what friends and family will do for baby #2...

I would just register for the heck of it, you never know if people will buy you things off the registry so it couldn't hurt.

Re: Registering for a second baby
I do not know the answer to this because I am having my 2nd and 3rd baby now. I need several things because its twins, and because they are being born in a different season than my son. I do not plan on registering, but at the request of a few of my friends may create a wish list for a couple of items.
No easy answer here, friends and family will want to gift you something, and some ppl like to have a list of things you need.
I feel so uncomfortable with the idea....

Registering for a second baby
I don't see any issue with creating a registry even if you don't tell anyone at least you have a way to keep track of what you need. And many places will give you a gift card or something for starting a registry so why not? I also will be registering but mostly for my own use. If people decide to buy a gift off it then thats ok too. IMHO I don't see any issue with celebrating the birth of a 2nd, 3rd, etc. Each baby is a celebration...not just the first.

I would create a registry and only let people know about it if they inquire.

Re: Registering for a second baby
I made one. My sisters are throwing me a sprinkle since my DDs are going to be 6 years apart and over time things have broken or I gave them away or it didn't exist when DD#1 was born.
The invite is specifying that they don't need to buy anything off the registry unless they really really feel the need. Basically it says to bring diapers and a gift card. Then that way I can just buy what we need with the gift cards.
ETA: It also says DO NOT buy any clothes, lol. DD#1 has enough clothes from birth to 5T to clothe a small country of girls, lol, and they are being born in the same season.

Re: Registering for a second baby
I created a registry for my second child to keep track of what I needed and to get the completion discounts. I never told anyone about the registry, but people found it and did get things from it. But it was really for me. As for gifts, DD got a lot of clothing because my first is a DS. hth

Re: Registering for a second baby
this is my 2nd baby, FH's 1st. My first will be 8 when this baby is born, we registered. We've been asked several times already where we have registered/if we are reigstering. Plus, the completion coupon will be helpful for any items we will need to get!

Re: Registering for a second baby
I registered this time because I am having a girl, 5 years after having a boy. I basically made it to keep things straight in my mind. There were things we had thrown away, like the boppy and changing pad. And other things broke, like the bouncer and monitor. So whenever I remembered something I needed, I just added it to the list. A few things were bought off of it and I just removed them. Soon I will be going and buying everything else on the list, to make sure I have everything when she comes. This way I don't have to think in the store, with DS blabbing in my ear how long its taking. Or, if for some reason, I do go quite early, then my DH can just go and grab all the stuff without having to ask a million questions.

Re: Registering for a second baby
you can always create a registry and its up to you if you share it with people or not. We had a seperate shower/sprinkle for all of ours. Either way, you get the completion coupon which helps with the big purchases you need to make.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it I just wouldn't tell anyone about it. Plenty of people will just search your name to see if you have one.

Re: Registering for a second baby
Thanks everyone! I think I'll create a small one and share it if anyone is interested. We're team , so I don't need much - but definitely some winter gear!

Re: Registering for a second baby
i created a registry for myself, to stay organized. If people ask, I will tell them that I have one. I even made my EDD earlier than it really is so that I can get the completion coupon early in order to pick up when I need.
