Will a school register your child before you close?

I called Connetquot twice and was never called back (last year when I was trying to purchase another home). I just left another message today b/c were closing in 2 weeks.

Im concerned b/c my son is special needs and will most likely need to be in one of their self contained classes. I want to be able to make sure were going to be all good.

SWR wasnt able to give my son what he needed so he had to go to BOCES for a year. I want to speak to someone. I dont even really need to register them, but I want to give them a heads up.

from my experience school districts usually let a child start the year where you are buying the home if you show them your contract with your on or about date.

When we were buying I went to the district (Levittown) and they allowed me to register DD by showing my contract. I had to show them the deed after we closed, and utility bills within 2 months after that.

I was able to register with our contract. They never asked for anything further after closing.

Our school district started the registration process for my son (who also had special needs) when we went to contract and we had our CPSE meeting the day after we closed.

OMG I had no idea. I could have started this a long time ago then Its very important to me to get him in the RIGHT class. Im hoping they call me back soon. Now that I know this Im going to stalk them until SOMEONE calls me back.

If you dont get a call back promptly just show up at the administriation building. They are there over the summer and would probably appreciate the heads up.
