Lovenox Question

Should I be concerned that I started bleeding from the day 2 injection site (in the shower) like 8 hours after I administered it?

Or that it took like 20 minutes of pressure to get my puncture from this morning's bloodwork to clot?

I would think it depends on your dosage. Mine was really low - 30 mg so I never experienced that. The whole reason you take Lovenox is to reduce clotting so that would explain both problems. If you are gushing blood, I would definitely contact your doctor - maybe your dosage can be lowered. Imagine if you got a bad cut when you were on the medicine and couldn't get that to stop - that would make me nervous. It is minor bleeding (like a drop or two that won't stop), I would not be concerned.

This has happened to me before, maybe a handful of times. I've notice blood on the waistband of my shorts or jeans. Wasn't like I was gushing just enough to notice it after the fact. I was never concerned. I'm on 80 mg.
If you're uncomfortable, I'd mention it then.

def has happened to me..blood stains mysteriously coming through my shirt

my hemo told me when i bled bad i prob hit a capillary or vein

as long as it has stopped i think u r ok!

i wouldnt worry. ive bled hours and hours later from the injection site and sometimes it took wayyy long for the injection site to clot. i think its normal for an injectable blood thinner.

Thank you, girls! It did stop after awhile. So lots of ice and pressure with this new territory.
