how many times a day do you give your infant tylenol when teething?

My 8 month old ds is teething pretty bad. He is usually in pain during the night and never in the day but for some reason this tooth is giving him pain all the time the last few days. I hate giving him tylenol to begin with and especially meds days in a row...my husband says its ok. I already gave it to him around 1 pm today and am nervous giving it to him again now. My ds is a great sleeper usually sleeping 9:30 to between8:30/9:30 without waking. With this tooth he's up every 3 hours to nurse bc it soothes his gums. What is your take on Tylenol? We actuallygive CVS brand if it matters.

Try Motrin or advil. It lasts up to 8 hours and it works better for teething. It is perfectly ok to give it to infants over 6 months. I use Target brand for all of DS's meds.. If he is in obvious pain, I give it to him as needed. Dr said it is perfectly ok as long as he gets the right dosage... Also try Hylands teething gel..

My ped told me not to bother with tylenol for theething that it was worthless. I would give motrin instead.

i just followed the recommended time frame. i think it's come to twice a day if he was really in pain, the most was 3 times.

I would give Motrin as well. I know personally, when I have a headache or tooth pain that Tylenol does nothing for me but, Motrin helps.

I usually used as directed when DS was teething so miserably (he was a horrible teether and I'm crossing my fingers that DS 2 has it a little easier).
