Disney Restaurants....

We are going very soon and have no idea which restaurants to eat at, i have also noticed alot of them need reservations!

Can anyone recommend a couple restaurants they like, that are easy to get a last minute reservation to, or require no reservation. (we have a 2 year old, so nothing too fancy! lol)

Thanks!

which parks are you going to? if you do a wuick google search, they will break down which restaurants are at which parks. keep in mind that many of the restuarants in Epcot as well as the ones in Downtown Disney book incredibly fast ad some of them start taking reservations 2 months in advance. You can always take your chances an see how long the wait it once your there. At Downtown Disney they have more family friendly restaurants, like Rainforest Cafe, and one that is dinosaur themes (i can't remember the name now) and you don't really need reservations, but you may have to wait a little bit to be seated. Good Luck!

I recommend going to the WDW website. You can put in the time and date you want and they will give you restaurants that are available. That is probably your best bet at this point. Also I would check back when it gets closer or even when you are down there as they have a 24 hour cancellation policy with character dining and some very popular places. You might find that a spot opens up at the last minute if people cancel to avoid the $10 pp penalty charge.

I was going to say the same thing. if you're really last-minute just put in the times you want to eat and where you will be and see what comes up.

Is there a specific kind of experience you do/do not want to have to food you do/do not want to eat?

They actually start taking reservations 180 days in advance.

Lillykat and JenniferEver are the experts but I just wanted to add that I am going in two months and a lot of places were booked when I started to look but I've been checking every now and then and a few things I wanted have opened up as I got closer to the date.

I have been seeing this...I think the fact that they started imposing the credit card cancellations fees have really helped. They had problems for a while where people were booking multiple meals that they didn't intend to keep and then canceling them down there because they didn't want them. It is kind of crazy to have people book dining 180 days out IMO because you have to guess where you want to eat and what night. But that is the system and we are stuck with it.

I think it is on allearsnet.com - but I know they have a chart in the Unofficial Guide to WDW (not sure if it on their website - touringplans.com - which btw if anyone wants to subscribe to that site mousesavers.com now offers a discount code to join). They have a chart that lists which restaurants tend to book by how many days out. For example - Le Cellier and Chef Mickey's were at the top - but places like Marrakesh were only booked shortly before people traveled - because I think the food is more exotic so some people avoid it - although we had fun meals there in the past.

BTW I'm not an expert and I'm not a TA - I actually just have fun planning our trips and I have helped a lot of friends plan theirs so I do read up on the info to stay current. I actually like to plan trips in general (I also have planned several cruises...LOL) just that with the girls I did a ton of research because I'm unfortunately a type A and like things to go as smooth as possible...Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Disney Restaurants....

I have gotten a WALK IN at 'Ohana, becuase I was willing to wait, and it was our honeymoon.

Even if you're going soon, I'd try to make some reservations. Some people don't like to schedule meals in advance, but I don't want to have to waste park time making those decisions or finding out that I'm at MK and the meal I want to have that's aiialable is at EPCOT and I have to travel and then come back in time for fireworks, etc etc.
