Anyone else feel this way

With baby #2 Dh is just not in on everything. He really seems to forget that I feel awful and doesnt seem to call to check up on me ever. Sorry I am sitting here hormonally in tears because I just feel like he doesnt care. With DD#1 he was always making sure I was ok and made me feel so good now I just feel alone.

Re: Anyone else feel this way

I can't say my DH was overly attentive the first time around but he is definitely NOT attentive this time! I get really frustrated and annoyed at him because he doesn't consider how I feel at all. I'm sorry Chat Icon

i'm not excusing his behavior, but maybe he feels like since you have already been through it, that is why he is sure your ok? i'm not saying this is ok, but if it really bothers you, you should talk to him about it. maybe he can just send you a quick text even during the day to see how you feel?

Re: Anyone else feel this way

I think in general we were both not as "interested" when we were PG with #2. I know that sounds horrible but It wasn't that we weren't excited. We were. But we both had been through it before and the excitement was just different. Plus we tended to spend all of our focus on DS1 because he was here and needed our attention AND we both kind of were feeling guilty about having another and hoping DS1 would be ok with it.

I more get upset now that our families still tends to dote on DS1 and not DS2. I suppose it is because DS1 is 5 and easier in that he is more self-sufficient and you can do more things iwth im. Versus DS2 who is 17 months and into everything. I just hate that they always do things with DS1 and not DS2.

I kinda feel your pain. My DH is awesome, I feel so lucky to have such a great guy on a daily basis but he's just not the type to dote on me while I'm pg. He already does more than his share around here, I couldn't ask for any more in that aspect but he doesn't call to ask how I'm feeling or do anything different since I'm pg.

He was like this with #1 and is the same this time around. I know he doesn't mean anything by it and it usually doesn't bother me but sometimes I wish he would be a bit more doting. He doesn't seem to get it when I'm falling asleep on the couch at 8pm lol.

My dh lacks the tenderness trait and I'm not bothered by it.

Anyone else feel this way

DH admitted to me at around 20 weeks that it really hadn't hit him that I was pregnant again. No sh** sherlock!!! I definitely know what you're saying.

Anyone else feel this way

I feel the exactly the same way, I was just talking about this with a few friends. I do everything that he never would have let me do last time and he doesn't say anything!

That's how DH was with my first, and the same second time around. It bothers me, but there isn't much I can do to change it.
