grout - light or dark
hey all.
i just ordered my grout. it is agate light (i dont know the brand and cant find a picture!)
it has a mix of green, ambers, purples, golds.. if you dont know agate, its kind of like glass tile with colors waving through it.
i dont know know what to do with grout.
light will make the tiles pop, and dark will let it blend. i seriously cant decide!
any ideas or pics?

I would pick the closest to the tile color. I do not think grout should stand out.....it should blend with the tile.

grout - light or dark
When we had our bathroom redone, our friend who did it recommended a darker grout because lighter grout gets a dirty look to it after awhile.

This is what I always do. I know that some people like grout to be a style aspect, but I prefer it to blend in, and make it look almost like one solid piece of tile.

Dark grout.
Grout gets dirty way too fast and is a ***** to clean.

thanks all!
the good thing about this grout is that it actually does not get dirty. it is a newer product that wipes clean. you could submerge it for weeks and it would not stain.
i guess im just trying to figure out if i want each tyle to 'pop' or have it blend.
i could really use two sample kitchens in front of me

You could get a rough idea by having four or more tiles together on the ground, taking a picture of them, then using a very simple photo editing program (even MS Paint), to draw the "grout" between them. It obviously won't be perfect, but it would give you an idea of what white, dark, sorta close color to the tile, etc, would look like.

I like when it blends.
Is it a floor, counter, or backsplash. I think Backsplash is the only palce I might going with contrasting grout.
