talk to me about a NEW KITCHEN?!
for an average size kitchen (not including applicances, we purchased all new last year when we moved into our home) what am I looking at?
cabinets
flooring
counter (granite)
backsplash
minor demo/framing
labor
we would like to have our fridge moved and the area where the fridge was would be turned into a pantry. possibly minor electrical/plumbing.
i don't need top of the line - i'd like upper off-white distressed cabinets and lower distressed dark/black wood.
any recs for kitchen companies that we can call for an estimate?

C - it looks great but the cabs and floor are crap, falling apart. The white is a laminant on the wood and its peeling. :/ Doors falling off hinges etc. We also want to take the counter/bar out so we can open the dining room up, just too cramped. You cant walk past the table in the dining room when people are sitting in there - have to go through the kitchen.

We had custom cabinets made by Dynamic Kitchens. I was pleasantly surprised that the cost wasn't much more than stock cabinets. We were very happy with the quality of cabinets we received.

i think an average sized kitchen would cost about 15k for cabinets, usually another 2-3k for installation, 5k for granite. backsplash and tile floors shouldnt be too much, but if you need to move plumbing and electric lines that might bump you up
i dont have a recommendation for ONE guy that does it all but if you want a great kitchen cabinet guy, let me know. he makes the cabinets himself and installs them too but he's in staten island- we are in bethpage. theres another company that we contacted for an estimate- they are in suffolk county.

Same here. We've had them about four or five years and have no issues - they still look great and work properly, and we maximized the use of our kitchen (no fillers or unusable cabinets).

I think it would cost around $30 to $35k since you have appliances. Labor and cabinets are the most expensive. I remodeled a normal sized kitchen and a teeny tiny second kitchen if you have any questions.
