MMR Question
Is it true they kids are supposed to get 2 doses of these shots..i gave my DS his MMR shot at 2.5 years old, but i thought that was it. I just came back from my DS's 4 year old check up and dr. said i was due for another MMR!!!!
I questioned her about it and she said the schools require a second dose of it, she wasn't sure about pre-k, but she said she is pretty sure they need it for kindergarten.
I held off on getting it since my son is not going inter kindergarten in September, but is this accurate????????????

MMR Question
Yes, it is a two dose shot. DD is 13 years old and she had to get the 2 of them too. I think it has always been like that.

Re: MMR Question
Yes. Both my kids needed to have the second shot before they were able to be registered for Kindergarten.

Re: MMR Question
I did the booster at DD's 5 yr visit (she is a summer birthday). Yes at orientation they were adamant that they needed the booster to attend school and that without the documentation from the doctor that they had the shot (I thought they said blood work wasn't enough but I could be wrong) that they wouldn't allow the child to walk in the door the 1st day. They said they are very strict on this.
