Rolling Over in Sleep
My 5 month old DD just started rolling over back to tummy a few days ago. She has always been a great sleeper... Tonight she has already woken up crying a couple of times because she's rolled over in her sleep and doesn't like it. I'm now nervous for 2 reasons... 1. Should I worry that she is ending up on her stomach sleeping?! And 2. Is this the end of her good sleeping if she keeps waking up? If anyone has experience with this... I welcome all advice. Thanks!

Re: Rolling Over in Sleep
Hey there, it happened to my DD a couple of times, thankfully it was sporadic. your LO is probably just learning the skill and so is probably practicing in her sleep-- and will hopefully stop doing it soon =)
I was worried about it too bc of the whole sleeping on the back thing but I have also read/heard that once they are able to roll over and get on their tummys on their own the risk of SIDS etc is greatly greatly reduced.

Rolling Over in Sleep
DS would wake up when he first rolled over in his sleep too. His Dr said that it was okay for him to sleep on his belly at that point, and if he woke up from it to just put him back on his back. Fortunately it only lasted a few weeks before he learned how to get himself back over to his back in his sleep himself.

Rolling Over in Sleep
They are fine on their stomach when they can do it themselves.
As far as them waking in the middle of the night because of the rolling it is just because it is new and they don't know how to do it without a lot of effort. Give it a few days and DD will be back to sleeping normally just probably on her stomach.
DS did this and when he cried we let him cause he quickly went back to sleep

Re: Rolling Over in Sleep
Try rolling up a blanket or use the boppy next to them so they can't roll. Dd is a belly sleeper and she rolls to her back and wakes herself. This trick seems to work.
