How often do you go out with your friends?

I was just reading the thread about parents having free time away from the kids. I realized that DH and I are both working constantly (at work and at home) that NEITHER one of us has a chance to go out with the family and just socialize with friends.

I'm trying to work on that. How often do you go out with friends? Is it you and DH together (so you need a sitter) or do you take turns?

probably about 2-3 nights a month.. sometimes more or less- my bf works nights so a lot of times when I see her, I bring ds with me because of the timing but its good either way!

Most of my friends have kids, so we get together with the kids a lot. But I can't remember the last time I went out without kids with my friends! That's bad, right?

my twins are 13 weeks but we def get out 2-3 times a month. we go out with other couples at night - for some kid free time (in laws or parents watch the babies) and we also hang out at the houses of people that have new babies and bring the kids there. this weekend we are going to LI, my mom is watcihng the kids while dh and i go to dinner with my sister and BIL

DH's friends are older so they have kids so we see those friends more often, few times a month since all the kids come.

as far as my friends, never. my friends are all single or newly in relationships and they are all about going to bars and getting drunk, playing beer pong. i never was a huge drinker to begin with so that def puts a rif in hanging out since im not interested in going to the bars. some of my friends pretty much forgot all about me since i have a kid since they are kinda anti-kid and i guess staying in touch with a friend who has kids would probably make you get pregnant too

Try never, We just had our first couple of hours out together along with no kids, that we haven't been able to do in over 2 years!!

My extent of getting out with friends is a play date with the kids, or my friends who don't have kids, they join me at the beach with my kids.

i just went out with 2 girlfriends last night. I try to do it at least once or twice a month.

with my husband, we try to go out once a month together.

Probably once or twice a month for nights out. But I see certain friends, like my 2 best girlfriends, once a week on average because they love coming over to hang out with DS. :)

Tonight is the first time in 5 mos that DH and I are going out sans baby. Besides a bachelorette party and a bridal shower, this kid is attached to my hip! And I love it like that!!!

Things go in spurts, sometimes I go months without a girls night, sometimes it's 3 times in one month. I went to Newport two weekends in a row- the frat with my friends, the second for DH sister's bachelorette party. The last time DH and I had a night out together was probably 2 months ago.

2-3 times a month.
Last weekend I went out with friends from high school and this weekend I'm having dinner with my other group of friends.
I am bringing DS with me because one of my friends has to bring her kids, but, I'm still excited to go out (we are celebrating a bday).

Girlfriends - once every few months. Sometimes 6 months go by because of work schedules, sick kids, kids sporting activities. Life gets in the way, and we all understand. Sometimes it's just breakfast at the diner with the kids in tow. We always pick up right where we left off, and I love them for that.

DH and I hardly go out together with friends. He has his, I have mine. If we go together, it's usually a family thing and our friends have their kids with them too.

Very rare. Most of my friends also have young babies so I see them a lot for playdates, we even do dinner and wine together, but never without the kids.

On average 1x a month, but I have so many different groups of friends that it makes me feel like I never see any of them.

Not as much as we would like to. DD is almost 9 months and I think we have had a babysitter 4 times. I have been out quite a few times on my own for work events and DH has done happy hour with his friends a couple of times. Unfortunately we don't have parents who can help out and DD has separation issues at night time so the few times we got a sitter (even SIL who watches her every day) it has not gone well at all and everyone involved ended up overwrought. DD seems to be getting a lot better now so we are going to try going out on our own again in a few weeks.

I guess that depends on your definition of getting out with friends. I do yoga 3 times a week and DH plays softball and kickball. We both have friends that we socialize with there. As far as actually going out we probably do that once a month. We very rarely go out together because it's so expensive to hire a babysitter.

I belong to a book club with girlfriends in my neighborhood. One night a month we get together and have a nice dinner (with wine). We chat for hours, not just a about the book we read that month, but about anything and everything. It is wonderful!

Other than that, I will occasionally go out with girlfriends to dinner to celebrate a birthday. DH and I have a date night usually once a month. We sometimes go out with other couples, or by ourselves. Nice dinner or a movie, or both.
