DD thinks her crib is a playground

I cant seem to keep dd in her crib and dont want to cosleep like we did with the first but she is relentless. She has kept me up some nights for 2 hrs just playing and laughing. Then sticking her legs out the slats and needing help. I recently took out the bumpers bc she is moving alot and I heard they were "dangerous". Seems like her legs/arms hanging out of the slats is dangerous as well. ANy ideas of how to settle her down so I dont have to consider cosleeping again. TIAChat Icon

How old is she?

I personally have always kept the bumpers in the crib. Last week they were off for a nap time b/c they were in the wash (i usually try to have them back on but the time she takes a nap tho) and it was a nightmare. She was throwing her pacifier thru the slats, her lovey thru the slats. Then she discovered sticking her feet thru!

Do you have one of those sound/light things that attach to the crib. I find that when I turn it on and it projects onto the ceiling she will lay there and watch it and eventually she will fall asleep.

they have those breathable bumpers that are supposedly safer.

Re: DD thinks her crib is a playground

We put my son's regular bumpers in the crib at about 8-9 months when we lowered the mattress to the lowest level. He was rolling around like CRAZY and we kept hearing his head bump on the slats, so we decided the thick bumpers were the way to go. He was able to move around so much that we didn't think the breathable bumpers were necessary anymore. There was really no padding in the breathable bumpers.

DS is hysterical when he's in his crib. He LOVES it. He rolls, military crawls, turns his mobile on, changes the tune on it 18 million times, kicks, reads his soft bath book, shakes his rattles, lifts his legs straight up on the bumpers and falls asleep in all different crazy positions. It could take him an hour to fall asleep, but as long as he's not crying, it's ok. He'll wake up at 6am and turn his own mobile on and roll, crawl and play and fall back asleep until he's ready to wake up. It's a riot to watch him on the monitor!!!

dd is 9 months. I may try putting the bumpers back and see how it goes. We have been doing the projector.
